We are deeply grateful to The National Lottery Heritage Fund for their invaluable support in preserving the historic ruins of St Margaret’s Church. With funds raised by National Lottery players, their assistance enables us to move forward with the Development Phase—a 12-month period focused on essential emergency work to stabilize the site. This phase is crucial for laying the groundwork toward the future conservation of the ruins and ensuring the preservation of this cherished heritage for generations to come.
Following the Development Phase, we will embark on the Delivery Phase, a two-year effort made possible by The National Lottery Heritage Fund to fully restore St Margaret’s ruins. In this phase, we also plan to establish a Centre of Excellence for conservation and heritage skills, providing learning opportunities for our community and fostering an appreciation for heritage preservation. This center will be a lasting tribute to the importance of conserving our historical legacy and sharing its value with future generations.
